Hi, I’m Brittni

Growing up on the eastern end of Long Island as the daughter of a waterman and a landscape designer, I was immersed in nature and my childhood was infused with a connection to the Earth and her elements.

My parents found their spiritual path when I was 7, and thus I became surrounded by yoga — mantra, asana, chanting, meditation, self-study, and selfless service.

During college I shifted away (“retired”) from a lifelong career in competitive figure skating. I turned to yoga and meditation for support and my own journey as a seeker began. The transition gave my mind and body space to continue a disciplined practice and helped me cope with stress and anxiety.

At the age of 18 I started making short and long-term visits to the ashrams of my path in Boston, upstate New York, and India to study and offer service.

I embarked on my first yoga teacher training through my home studio, Mandala Yoga Center for Healing Arts in Amagansett, NY in 2019 with the intention of deepening my practice. What I received was much more than just a training, but also a set of tools with which to navigate my everyday life with newfound intention and devotion.

In 2022 I completed my 300-hour certification from Maui Yoga Shala in Paia, HI which fortified my intention to teach and share yoga.

Practices of sacred sound have been part of my life since childhood in the forms of chanting the divine name (namasankirtana) as well as studying classical piano. I have studied and immersed myself in the healing power of sound through apprenticeship, as well as an Advanced Synergy of Sound certification through Fairhaven Healing Arts Center. I have seen and experienced firsthand that intentional sound can open the door to the inner world and can deepen our practices and healing processes.

With reverence and gratitude for my teachers, it is my great honor and utmost joy to share this practice with others.

Experience & Style

Through my training in alignment-based vinyasa stemming from the lineage of Krishnamacharya, I have been blessed to absorb the wisdom of many established teachers in asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, Ayurveda (the “life-science of India”), sound healing, and trauma-informed yoga for youth in my 500+ hours of study.

My personal style is influenced by the flow of a vinyasa practice, the stability and alignment from the Iyengar tradition, and the Tantric philosophy embodied through the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga.

I weave these elements into classes to invite energetic alignment into body, mind and soul in a gentle and grounding way.
